CAR PLAYS! is an exciting, hands on workshop designed to offer participants the tools needed to inspire students to create and perform 5 minute plays that take place in or around a vehicle. CAR PLAYS! can become a yearly event in your school and can provide all students in your class an opportunity to feel successful as playwright and performer. This is also a cool opportunity for introducing your audiences to an alternative style of theatre while still providing and exciting and entertaining theatrical experience. Suitable for middle and high school theatre programs.

Matthew Howe graduated with honors (B.Ed Theatre and Music) from the University of Victoria in 1985. For the next decade, he taught extensively in high school theater and music programs while performing professionally in the Victoria region. Additional training at New York’s Circle in the Square Theatre School encouraged Howe to transition into professional theatre full time.
From 1996 to July of 2007, Matthew enjoyed ten seasons as Resident Director/Choreographer and Master Teacher at the Tony Award winning Children's Theatre Company in Minneapolis, Minnesota. While in Minnesota, he also taught acting at the University of Minnesota, Musical Theatre at Northwestern College and spent four years with the teaching team of The Prelude Program at The MacPhail Centre. He was named Twin Cities Director of the Year in 2005-06 for his work as director and choreographer on the world premiere, stage production of Disney's Aladdin.
Matthew returned to Victoria to join the staff of The Canadian College of Performing Arts in August 2007. Matthew continues to direct many projects locally and continues to teach and direct at CCPA in addition to his position as Director of Performing Arts at Pacific Christian Secondary School in Victoria, BC.
