Hamlet : To be or NOT  In this session, we will examine the themes and motifs around Maddness and Melancholia. Examining the complex character relationships of Hamlet and Ophelia will allow us to dig further to the underlying meanings and thoughts that surround this couple and their fate of  demise and destruction.

Presenter

  • Nitasha Rajoo

    Nitasha is currently the Interim Director of Education at The Stratford Festival in Ontario. She is an educator, performer and director and has over 20 years of experienec in th creative and performing arts. In BC , she has TOC'ed in 5 school districts and worked at St. John’s School in Vancouver, BC. From 2016 - 2019, she was the program leader for the Creative Teens program at the Arts Club.  She is  an adjudicator for numerous Speech and Drama Festivals in BC and  has presented at the ABCDE Conference in 2018, the  Welcome Centre for New Immigrants/ Refugees, and The Good Will Shakespeare Festival in BC. Prior to this, she was Head of Drama and Dance at the City Academy in Hackney, UK, and has volunteered as a teaching mentor and coach in South Africa  and Tanzania with Warwick in Africa. In addition to a BA in Theatre/Arts Administration , B.Ed and an MA in the Advanced Teachings of Shakespeare, Nitasha has an extensive, global teaching experience, both in the classroom and in arts/theatre settings, and is passionate about Shakespeare and working with young people.
